Something Different, 86: Something important.
“… Tomorrow at, 9am. That too early?” Nat asked once I got out of Dash’s limo and arrived home. I thought for a minute and finally said, “Yup. Mind being the wake up call?” I joked. Nat laughed, “Sure.” “Good night, Ivs!” I heard London shout. “GN!” Paul laughed. “Night, loser.” Eric said. “You!” I pointed my index finger to him, “Loser.” I quickly looked at Dash who didn’t look at me for a few seconds. I could see hesitation in his face. A few seconds passed, he finally looked up to me with a flat smile and got out of the limo. He stood in front of me, hands in his pockets. His usual trademark. The night was cold after the rain. A gust of wind blew my hair, which made it messy. “Ugh.” I groaned. “Well, ‘night.” He finally said. I nodded slowly, “Mmm…’night.” I turned around but Dash pulled my wrist. “What?” “Sorry.” He said. I just smiled flatly, “What happened to you?” Silence. “You know you can always tell me, right?” I finally asked. “It’s not that easy.” I took a step back, “Then make it easy.” Another gust of wind blew through my face and my hair. I looked at Dash who was standing there as if he was looking at something which was going to walk away from him. Something important. I turned my back towards him and headed for my door. Before I closed it I looked at him once more. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” And shut the door close. Looks like I’m his important something which just walked away.
